Located in Kansas City’s vibrant Crossroads District this office renovation for Spotlight AR reimagines an existing 19,000 sf three‑story masonry building into a light‑filled, collaborative workspace. Working within the constraints of monolithic concrete floor slabs, the design introduces carefully calibrated floor cuts and new metal‑wrapped skylights and guardrail panels that flood the interior with daylight and visually connect levels. The project thoughtfully activates generous open floor plates by using the building’s column grid to shape and organize both communal and private spaces, balancing openness with acoustically discreet meeting zones. Rich walnut wood and crisp white metal details warm the interior and enhance a material palette that reflects both the client’s forward‑looking identity and the contextual character of the Crossroads. The result is an award‑winning interior that supports Spotlight’s culture of innovation and elevated work experiences.
